President of the National Carrot Growers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria, (NACAGPROMAN), John Aderibigbe, has urged President Bola Tinubu to boost the nation’s fledgling economic fortunes.

He stated this today as Tinubu takes over governance from the outgoing President, Muhammadu Buhari.

Aderibigbe, who is also the Peace Ambassador and Country Director, United Nation International Association of World Peace Advocates, (IAWPA), said there is need for the new administration to restore confidence back in the minds of Nigerians as regards economy, security, health, food security and other facet of the nation’s economy.

In a Statement by Aderibigbe, signed by his Media aide, Akinwale Kasali, he congratulated Tinubu as the 16th President of Nigeria, stressing the need for him to come up with a National Agro Commodity Board, where all Apex Commodity President will be member of the board, State Commissioners of Agriculture, as well as the Director of Agriculture in the Federal Ministry Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD).

He said they will be members making national policies for national food security and sufficiency as well as excesses for export purposes to generate revenue for the nation.

Aderibigbe said over time, the Bank of Agriculture (BOA), has been ignored and short changed by the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN) and commercial banks, in their engagements with farmers.

“We appeal that Tinubu administration look into National Agricultural Insurance Policies, where all the value chain will enjoy end to end extention services from land preparation, best agronomical services, aggregation and off takes from farmers to empower farmers by its innovation of down the stream value chain and Democratic inclusion,” he said.

He added that in recent times, the Nigeria Civil Defence and Security Corps, (NSCDC) has come up with a security outfit, Agro Rangers, who have been empowered by the Act that constituted them.

Aderibigbe said this is to curb the insecurity anomalies in the farms’ outskirts and to boost food security in the nation.

He called on all Nigerians irrespective of political affiliation, religion, tribe, norms, and values to join hands with the Tinubu/ Shettima administration to change the fortunes of the nation.
