U.S. Census trade data indicate that in 2022, Wisconsin exported a record number of agricultural, forestry, and food products.
142 nations received nearly $4.22 billion in exports, a 7 percent increase from the previous record set in 2021.
According to Census data from the United States, exports of dairy products reached $617 million in the year 2021, the highest level ever and more than $100 million higher than the previous record year, 2014.
Grain, wood, and vegetable crop products all saw increases of more than 5% to $2.82 billion, a 10-year high.
Meat products lost 2%, reaching $782 million.
In 2022, agricultural exports from the United States totaled more than $220 billion, up 10% from the previous year.
Wisconsin’s agricultural exports now place it 12th in the nation.
